One of the greatest rights of a free nation is the Freedom of Speech and a Free Press. From the founding of this country, and through our tumultuous history, a Free Press has existed to give us the news and information needed to make up our own minds regarding the issues of the day. However, I am afraid that by and large our great news outlets whether they be print, TV, radio, or magazine, no longer care about being objective. It seems that they no longer desire to report news, but to create news according to their own personal bias. 

 

Case in point was the recent “Tea Parties” held across the nation. While Fox News and the Wall Street Journal covered these events, the other major news outlets either ignored them or covered them as a bunch or right wing, anti-government anti-tax kooks. Never mind the fact that the reason for these rallies had nothing to do with taxes but the bail out of big business! If you saw the CNN coverage of the Chicago tea party by CNN reporter Susan Roesgan, then you witnessed first hand the lies and bias of Big News. Let’s face it, America’s media elite hates conservative and Christian America. They delight in mocking and belittling us to be Pro-Life, and Pro-Gun (I am not a gun enthusiast however I do respect the rights of others to own them). These news organizations liken anti-  illegal immigration to the KKK and Adolf Hitler!

 

I know the liberal press always screams that the conservatives have Bill O’Reilly, Rush Limbaugh, (I don’t listen to him), Sean Hannity, (I do not listen to him), Glen Beck, (I haven’t quite figured out whether he is a comedian or a serious news commentator), George Will, Robert Novak, Cal Thomas, Fred Barnes, etc. However they fail to mention that just about every editorial writer and columnist at major mainstream news outlets such as the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, and the Boston Globe, are so liberal that it defies description! And let’s not forget the TV networks, ABC, CBS, CNN, and MSNBC! They are so biased that it borders on the obscene and criminal. 

 

The simple reality is that I can no longer believe what I read or hear on the news. Therefore, how can I make a proper decision when it comes to issues of the day?

I used to be a news junkie, with subscriptions to my local paper, USA Today, and the New York Times, however today I only receive the USA Today (mainly for its sports). I no longer watch much TV news, (except for some Fox News), as I am tired of being lied to and discriminated against.

 

So what are we to do; how are we to know the issues and the truth of them? You are going to have to study, really study, (Thank God for the internet). What is being said by all the major pundits can only be determined by careful study on the internet. Of course most do not want to do that. When the masses no longer want to know the truth, but simply what they are told, then you get the government we have today. The worse it gets, the more we have to cling to God’s word, for it is the Truth and only the Truth.
